Posts from Malaysia

Recounts of my trips to Malaysia. Malaysia is a causeway away from Singapore, and my first ‘overseas’ country. I visited Malaysia several times for shopping, eating, hikes and dives.

One of my most memorable outdoor trips in Peninsula Malaysia was when I was 15. I signed up as a ‘hunter’ under an adventure programme organised by my secondary school. We camped under plastic sheets supported by branches, cooked rice in bamboo with a self-made fire, dug our toilets and washed up by the river – all these in the pristine forest of Taman Negara, accessible only by a long boat.

Highly recommend you to visit Miri, Sarawak of East Malaysia – home to one of the biggest caves in the world. Recently ate my way around Penang in 2024. What’s left is exploring the mountain and seas of Sabah.
